About the Artist
Diane Canfield Bywaters has forty years of en plein air painting experience, and an extensive list of selected artist-in-residencies including twelve residencies in the U.S. National Park System.
She is an Emeritus Art Professor and Chair from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point where she taught drawing and painting and was honored with both the university’s Excellence in Teaching Award and Scholar Award (for extensive exhibition and artist-in-residency involvement).
Her artworks are in corporate collections including United Airlines, 3M, JP Morgan Guaranty Trust Bank, Prudential Insurance Company of America and the State Department (an extensive list of corporation collectors is on her resume).
Diane enjoys being a full-time artist – having taken early retirement in 2018 – and now paints landscape and figures; as well as creating found-object
